The Role
Reporting to the Director, Business Process Re-Engineering, you will join a team that includes three other Analysts. You will be responsible for delivering key project initiatives in addition to maintaining production support of existing systems.Initially you will provide helpdesk support, responding to a variety of requests, including resetting passwords, helping a user create a report, determining why expected values aren't showing, and others. More specifically, in the helpdesk support role you will:
- Monitor queue to ensure that all inquiries are responded to within the time frame of the team SLA.
- Facilitate professional and constant communication with overall users on the status of production problems that might arise and inform them about ways of resolving issues.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical development support in the daily support of ERP and third party applications.
- Provide on-going application support, develop process models, participate in business discussions, create functional requirements and test plans, and execute system testing.
- Properly triage issues as code, setup, data or user training issues, and resolve according to the appropriate triage result.
- Provide workarounds for issues.
- Propose long-term solutions to system and business process issues to improve operational efficiency.
- Resolve business issues and enhancement requests through system administration or configuration updates.
- Perform user administration.
- Configure, implement, test and deploy application ERP solutions, custom applications solutions and third party solutions as needed.
- Improve existing systems and business processes to improve operational efficiency by studying current practices, and designing and proposing modifications.
- Create and facilitate efficient/cost effective solutions and analyze systems specifications to meet business requirements.
- Participate and be an active contributor in discussions with business users and leaders regarding areas of opportunity to leverage technology.
- Research, analyze and recommend business workflow and application best practices.
- Research and resolve operational application issues.
- Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
- Create designs for technical solutions to resolve business problems and try out components of new systems for efficiency.
- Act as liaison between business users and technical development team to translate and document business requirements to functional designs with use cases.
- Work with the development team to clarify business requirements and design solution.
- Perform functional testing of delivered project solution(s). Create test plans, test schedules.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing with business users to validate that the delivered solution meets and/or exceeds the business needs.
- Adhere to company change management processes to apply projects to production.
- Create supporting application documentation and end user process and training documentation.

Keys to Success
The role offers many opportunities for you to build your skill set, but to take advantage of the opportunities you'll need to be proactive about getting up to speed quickly. We'll provide training, but you should take the initiative to ask questions and do research independently.The Helpdesk team supports some 2000 users across the country, and we'll look to you to bring a strong customer service approach along with patience and excellent communication skills. You'll use the same skills as a business analyst, including active listening, probing for clarity and repeating back to confirm understanding. You'll communicate via phone and email, so you'll need to use these skills both orally and in writing. While there will be occasions when you'll need to manage user expectations, in general you should be saying, "Let's see how we can do that," rather than "No, that can't be done."
You will have individual responsibilities, but we also work in teams, putting a high value on collaboration and knowledge sharing. Priorities can change on short notice, so you should be flexible and adaptable. Those who excel in our group have a positive attitude and suggest solutions rather than just complaining.
